Bananas don't just look like smiles they also contain mood boosting nutrients like Vitamin B9, also known as folate. Folate helps serotonin (a feel-good chemical) enter the brain faster. It usually is also low in people with depression.
This flourless banana bread is easy to make and a great option when you are craving something sweet.
Here's what you will need:
Ingredients:
- 3 over-ripe bananas, mashed
- 2.5 cups of oatmeal
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup honey or agave
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/3 cup almond milk, milk or oil
- Chocolate chips (optional)
How to make:
- Preheat oven to 350-degrees
- Place 2.5 cups of oatmeal in a blender. Blend in blender until it becomes a fine powder.
- Place the oatmeal into mixing bowl and mix in all dry ingredients.
- Mash bananas well and add into dry mixture.
- Add all wet ingredients into the bowl.
- Mix well.
- Grease a loaf pan and place into pan.
- Bake for 35-minutes. Then turn-off oven and leave in oven for an additional 10-minutes.
