December can be an extremely challenging month for many. Stress and worry coupled with alcohol, sugary treats and family visits can make the time seem overwhelming.
Some studies have shown that the holiday season is one of the biggest causes of lack of sleep at this time of year. When we are stressed the brain releases a stress hormone called Cortisol, which makes it even more difficult to get a good night's sleep.
